Richard E. Capes
Richard
Capes dreamed of becoming an artist when he was only six or seven, and
through hard work and persistence, his dreams have definitely come true.
Since moving to Sarasota 30 years ago, Richard has finished more than 2,000
paintings and sketches of Florida. In addition, he has written a book which
includes 200 illustrations of Siesta Key landmarks.
Capes is presently working on another book where his creation, Gulliver the Pelican, will take a journey throughout Florida.
Each year, he does an
original painting of a
lighthouse and
donates
it to
Lighthouse
for the
Blind.
